What are The Stages of Gum Diseases?

If your gums are inflamed, red in color, swollen and bleeding, your gums are affected by the bacteria present in the plaque which is sticky and colorless substance that frequently formed on your teeth. Mainly bacteria will affect the gum tissues and weakens the surrounding gum tissues that support the bone. This gum disease can cause your teeth to become loose, fall out or have to be removed by a dentist.

Plaque is principally formed because of improper brushing and flossing your teeth. If you do not do it daily, the food particles will accumulate in the gaps of the teeth and there will be formation of plaque. This can lead to the gum disease. There are three stages of gum disease:

1)Gingivitis.
2)Periodontists.
3)Advanced periodontists.

Gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease when you can see the inflamed gums caused by the plaque (the food substances remained on the teeth) which is build up on the gum line. This plaque can be removed by proper brushing and flossing your teeth before and after the meals. If this plaque is not removed daily after eating, the bacteria produce toxins on the food substances that can irritate the gum tissue and cause gingivitis. The teeth are not affected in this stage but still they are in place.

Periodontists is the second stage where the supporting bone and tissues that hold the teeth are damaged and the gums may begin to form a space below the gum line. This space traps food and plaque. Now, you have to take proper dental care, otherwise more food can be trapped which can lead to further damage.

Advanced periodontists is the final stage where your gum tissues and the bone supporting teeth are destroyed, which can cause your teeth to shift or loosen. If you do not taken treatment at this stage, the teeth is removed.
