Shenzhou 6, Second PRC Human Space Flight

A new further major development was done in the field of human spaceflight by ‘PCR Shenzhou 6’ space flight. It was the second human spaceflight of the People’s Republic of China in its history. This was launched on 12th October 2005 by Long March 2F rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

The major objective of Shenzhou 6 was to find the physical reactions of crews’ member in space environment. The Shenzhou spacecraft carried a crew of Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng for five days in low Earth orbit.

In this attempt of PCR, various new activities were included. All the activities of the crew were not completely exposed by the Chinese authorities. But the major activities, which were revealed are as:

  • Crew members were able to change out of their new lighter space suits,
  • Crew members were to conduct scientific experiments
  • Crew members were to enter the orbital module for the first time
  • Crew members were to access toilet facilities.

This space project of PCR is hoped to give new results and ideas in next coming futures development.
