Three Finalists For World Car Of The Year Award Announced

The three cars left for the prominent World Car of the Year Award was announced. From a list of 30 cars allover the world, the field for the WCOTY title was reduced to three vehicles. They are the Toyota Prius, the Volkswagen Polo, and the Mercedes- Benz E-Class.

The awarding ceremony is organized to take place on the 1st of April in New York City at the time of the inauguration of the 2010 New York Auto Show. Apart from the announcement of the last three cars competing for the World Car of the Year Award, the remaining finalists from various categories, like one for performance vehicle and other for design, were also declared.

The Audi R8 V10, the Porsche 911 GT3, and the Ferrari California will be competing for the performance vehicle category, whereas the Citroen C3 Picasso, the Kia Soul, and the Chevrolet Camaro will compete for the design category.

Making up to the list of finalists belonging to the green category are Prius, the Honda Insight and Volkswagen`s BlueMotion for their diesel offerings are competing for eco-friendly supremacy. The winners for all the categories will be announced on April 1.
