Statistics of Methamphetamine

Methamphetamine is one of the illegally abused drugs. Many people are using this type of drug. According to the National Survey On Drug use and Health, the number of people who are using this methamphetamine is 8,50,000 in 2008.

The users of the Methamphetamine was 8.2 percent in 2004 but it reduced to 3.3 percent in 2008. There is great reduction in Methamphetamine abuse in both male and female patients from 2005 to 2007.

Most of the abusers of methamphetamine take methamphetamine in combination with other drugs. Such other drugs can be alcohol, other illegal drugs or prescription drugs. More than one fourth use methamphetamine with other drugs and 34.2 percent used methamphetamine with two or more drugs. Mostly, methamphetamine is used with the combination of the top five drugs in 2008, such as alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, Benzodiazepines. Nearly, one in four used methamphetamine with alcohol or marijuana. And nearly, one in five used methamphetamine with cocaine or opiates. Nearly, 9.5 percent used methamphetamine with benzodiazepines.
