Ford Plans a Comeback With C Max

Ford is planning for C Max to attract the family friendly segment of the US auto market where the sales volumes are very large. The sales is around 100,000 units in this segment. The Ford C-Max is a compact multi utility vehicle produced by the Ford since 2003 in Europe and it is planning to produce it in North America from 2011.

C Max has the same basic front drive which is present in all C platform chassis, the seven seat C-Max will be offered with either a standard 168-horsepower 2.5-liter 4 or a new turbocharged, direct injection EcoBoost 4 that makes 180 horsepower when burning premium fuel and this too, is rated at 168 horsepower on regular. C Max has 109.7-inch wheelbase which makes the vehicle more taller. It has features like a hands free power lift gate, rear view camera, park assist, and panoramic sunroof.

It has more interior space and can seat five passengers, but the American C Max will seat seven, in three rows, utilizing a 2-3-2 seating configuration. It features, two engines, a 2.5 L four cylinder and a 1.6 L turbocharged EcoBoost four cylinder. It has control blade independent rear suspension which is also present in Focus.

At 2011 North American International Auto Show Ford also introduced C-Max Energi plug In hybrid and the C-Max Hybrid which will be released in 2012 in North America and in 2013 in Europe. It can arrange seating only for five passengers. This hybrid has an projected driving.
