<p>The new Jetta is a vastly improved car than the previous one. The engine range of Jetta is improved than the past Jetta engine. Volkswagen last time introduced new brand Passet sedan, with only petrol engine. In Indian auto market, sales are falling down due to the hiked petrol prices, so Volkswagen introduced the new Jetta in two models with petrol engine and the diesel engine. New Volkswagen&#8217;s Jetta is having fuel saving-emission cutting blue motion technology and it also has more interior space. <p>The officials from Audi have said that, they have plans to extend their showroom facilities from 13 to 18 by the end of 2011. Audi is planning to establish new showroom outlets at Indore, Lucknow and Coimbatore. This requires 600 more work force in three different levels. Levels are corporate, production and dealership. Further, Audi is also planning to double their production for 2013.</p>
<p>Audi planned to invest 30 million Euros for extending their facilities. According to the sales report Audi&#8217;s 2011 sales target is 5,000 vehicles, it has already reached 2010 sales target of 3,003 vehicles. As per the sales data Audi motors recorded their first half sales for 2011 which is 3145 units and they have to sell more 1,626 for second half.</p>

<p>Company is planning to tap the smaller car markets for catching the opportunity. GM plans to establish 50 more outlets in India. GM already has 250 outlets all over India. Sales of their units were 60% in metros and 40% in non metros. But, they are planning to increase the 40% sales to 70% in non metros.</p>
<p>US car makers hope to achieve their sales target of 1.4 lakh units for this year which crosses the sales target of 1.2 lakh units in 2010. They have planned to reach 60% sales growth for the year 2011 along with 30% growth of market sales. General Motors has developed their smallest car 1.0 liter Beat Diesel for Indian economic market. They have plan to capture the non metro users with this small car models.</p>

The Toyota Motor Corp.’s inventory was reduced and the demand from consumers also decreased due to recession. Sales of GM Co. and Fords Motor Co. rose 10 percent in June. Toyota and Honda Motor Co. deliveries each fell 21 percent. Nissan Motor Co. reported a 11 percent gain, while Chrysler Group LLC sales topped forecasts.</p>
<p>Industry’s light vehicles sales slow down to an 11.5 million seasonally adjusted annual rate. Small car purchases have decreased due to supply constraints hurting all automobiles.</p>
<p>GM, Ford and Chrysler had combined market share of 50.1 percent last month. This is the first time the U.S.-based companies rose above 50 percent since August 2009. Sales declines for Toyota and Honda decreased the market share for Asia-based car makers’ to 39.9 percent from 44.8 percent a year ago.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Online advertising is found to improve in-store sales of consumer packaged goods (CPG) in the United States. comScore, Inc. which is a global leader in measuring the digital world and dunnhumbyUSA which is a global leader in building brand value for consumer goods and retail companies conducted a two year study from 2008 to 2010 in US to measure the impact of online advertising on the offline or in-store sales of consumer packaged goods. The results are analyzed by a comparison of the in-store brand buying of households exposed to online advertising with that of households which are not exposed to it.</p>
<p>About 21 percent lift in median in-store sales was evident with CPG brand online advertising campaigns. For every six campaigns, five generated a positive sales lift. A double-digit sales lift resulted from about 70 percent of online ad campaigns and more than 40% generated lifts of at least 30 percent. It is, therefore, evident from the study that online advertising play a significant role along the path to purchase.</p>
<p>Effective online advertising shows a great impact on a wide range of audience. It increases awareness, favorability and purchase intent, thereby increasing the in-store conversion. So, any CPG marketer&#8217;s integrated communications strategy should include online ad campaigns. The impact of online display ads lasts longer even beyond the web browsing session, which encourages the consumer to opt the respective brand households from offline stores.</p>

<p>It was found that in April 2011, mobile display advertising campaigns were used by 689 advertisers. This was up by 128 percent since 2008 and reflected the growth of using mobile channels for advertisers. This data was as per the Comscore Ad Metrix Mobile based on the mobile display advertising across more than 600 of the top websites and sub-sites on the mobile Internet. </p>
<p>Various categories like mobile content and publishing, consumer discretionary, financials, telecommunication services, information technology, consumer staples, industrials and others have been included in the mobile display advertising. Among them, mobile content and publishing accounted for 50% of the mobile ads. Consumer discretionary (26%), information technology (7%), financials (6%), telecommunication services (5%), consumer staples (3%) and industrials (2%) followed mobile content and publishing services. </p>
<p>Mobile ad exposure and mobile media usage shows differences between feature phone users and smartphone users. About 82.3 percent of the smartphone users accessed their mobile browser and 85% of the smartphone users accessed applications during March 2011. However, only 19.1 percent of featured phone users accessed mobile browser and 15.9 percent of them accessed applications. This data was as per the comScore MobiLens which included data gathered from total US mobile subscribers aged above 13. Mobile advertisers were found to be interested to attract customers through a variety of platforms including mobile browsers, apps and SMS. Adoption of smartphones, 3G or 4G networks and unlimited data plans considered to increase the usage of mobile media for advertisers. </p>

<p>It was found that the online ad spend grew in the UK by 12.8% in 2010. It is estimated that the growth of online advertising is will continue. As per the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) report, the online advertising in UK is estimated to grow 11.2% by 2015. This is because of the enhancement of global media industry through digital innovation. The digital technologies would increase their influence across the industry. </p>
<p>Increased brand advertising online with an impressive growth of online video advertising, and brand-friendly and new display formats are found to be the key drivers. It was found that social media would be the main driving force behind the growth in the online advertising market. Even mobile advertising would contribute to the growth of online advertising. </p>

This is the second time that the organization is conducting such a contest. This contest is aimed as an initiative to encourage quality project work by MBA students.</p>
<p>The first prize winner will walk away with a cash award of Rs.12,000 and the second and third prizes will carry awards of Rs.7,500 and Rs.5,000 respectively.</p>
<p>A summer project work done by students allows to showcase their capabilities when it comes to applying their academic knowledge in real life situation. But today, even good students are not using this opportunity, opting for a routine/mediocre project which can be completed relatively easily. However, such projects do not grow either the abilities of the student or their understanding of real life business situations.</p>
<p>A spokesperson for Marvist WebSolutions said, <em>&#8220;A challenging project done in real life situations is essential for preparing the student for the realities of his/her first job. Marvist WebSolutions is coming up with the contest to encourage such projects that offer practical solutions to business problems.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>Marvist WebSolutions is seeking to identify students who introduce new concepts, have strong knowledge of marketing, show rigorousness in research and are diligent in executing marketing principles. The project must involve strategic marketing with a combination of academic knowledge and industry. Students are expected to put in a minimum of 4 weeks (180 working hours) into the project. Preference will be given to projects dealing with Internet marketing and problems faced by professional small companies.</p>
<p>20th January 2012 is the last date for submitting the project. The winners will be given the prize money in cheque along with the letters. This will also be publicized.</p>
