There was no much difference in advertising market during recession when the economy suffered around the world in 2009. During the drop in expenditure in media, there was a rise in online ad spending by 2% to $55.2 billion.
According to eMarketer forecasts that 2010 will bring a return to double-digit online ad growth, as global spending will touch $61.8 billion. Through 2014, growth will continue at a rate of 10% each year. This increase will be unmatched by other media.

The eMarketer has forecasted that the U.S. market will grow from $1 billion this year to $7 billion by 2014.
In 2009, three-quarters of the worlds ad spending was accounted by North America and Western Europe. The more developed regions will increase more by billions, in terms of dollars due to the large established bases and largely unused potential of the internet.
Online Advertising Share Value in Total ad Spending
In 2004, the internet share of total ad spending worldwide will increase from 11.9% in 2009 to 17.2%. By 2004, the global ad expenditure is expected to be in the region of $200 billion. Whereas, the spending in 2009 decreased by 10.5% for total media.
