Daimler Plans to Introduce New Model in India

Daimler, largest truck maker in the world is going to start an entry by launching a range of trucks in 6-49 tonnes category under complete new brand by 2012 in Indian commercial vehicle market.

Daimler has plan to invest Rs 4,400 crore through it’s subsidiary, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles at Oragadam in Tamil Nadu. It has plan to increase it’s growth by opening 20 dealerships in the next two years in India. Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Fuso, Western Star, and Detroit Diesel, are the truck brands of Daimler globally.

According to officials of Daimler, it plans to introduce new designed vehicles for Indian customers. There will be a unique badge for vehicles which will be introduced in India. It will launch vehicles initially in 25 tonne category at the time of second quarter of 2012 and introduce vehicles in all the 6-49 tonnes categories with in18 months of the launch of initial thing.

According to officials, company will expand dealership networks and setup work shops to get nationwide presence in next four years
